Stop trying to wear all the hats in your business. It’s not a good look for you or your bottom line.
Have you thought about how you can take off some of those hats and delegate them to others? Feeling overwhelmed already at the thought of delegating?
The best way to get started is to begin with a list. A list of all the tasks you complete over the span of a week. This list may create more stress but it’s an important step in decluttering your task list.
Next step is discovering how much time you spend on each of these tasks. This helps you to see where your time is really spent and where you could potentially better spend this time. Which ones are taking up too much of your time and energy? Can you simplify them? Get rid of them?
Step 3. If you can hire a book keeper who is an expert in that field and who will save you time, identify potential savings for you, consider it an investment in not only gaining more time for yourself to concentrate on the bigger picture but also an investment in the financial health of your business. This goes for any expertise field, if you don’t know it, get an expert in.
Step 4. Once you have created this list, outsourced the expertise tasks, decide if the remaining tasks can be kept, delegated or further outsourced.
Still not sure which task is more important than another, still can’t decide on the right expert, or finding it too difficult to even begin? This is where a business coach can help you and your growing business. As a business coach of over 10 years, I thrive on seeing your business grow and move from strength to strength.
I publish additional information over on my Facebook page and also on my LinkedIn – so make sure you are “following” me on Facebook and connected with me on LinkedIn. Instructions on how to do this are in last month’s newsletter, here.

Some tips on managing stress for yourself and your employees can include,
Positive communication based on respect builds trust and collaboration and is a vital part of creating a healthy and safe work environment. Small businesses and teams want to support and protect each other, so may find it hard to ask for help when they need it. Make it OK to talk about stress and what’s happening in the workplace.
Workplaces can offer a safe space for their people, especially if events outside of work are taking their toll. Talk to staff about how you can support them best. Be open to making changes in duties, flexible hours, opportunities for time out, or other kinds of support for them and their families.
If you are a manager or business owner, it’s important to understand the impact of stress not only on you, but also the trickle-down effect it has on your team and your customers.
The Mental Health Foundation has created a framework called The Three Rs to help workplaces and individuals minimise and manage workplace stress. The Three Rs are:
