Businesses can grow in many different ways, but which do you think
flourishes best – an innovators dream, a customer centric base or a
competitor driven market?
Learning how to grow your business isn’t just a worthy goal; it can support your economic well-being, and provide you with
a vehicle to flourish financially and personally.
Building a successful business requires focus. Every new or existing business
owner wants to grow his or her business, sometimes though it’s that focus on
growth that can ultimately stand in the way of the desired growth.
Sound confusing? What I’m trying to say is that unless you find a way to provide
more value, your growth will be slow. Growth is about constantly finding new
ways to provide extra value that isn’t found elsewhere.
If you are struggling to come up with ideas, survey your customers. Asking them how you can deliver more value will often provide you with the feedback needed to move forward to flourish.
Other items you could visit are;
Asking for Referrals from your customers,
Innovate and/or Diversify Your Product or Service or,
Conquer your Niche Market.
There you have it, grow with value to flourish, try to keep focus on this and
whichever way of expanding your business you choose, you will see progress if
you keep at it, and you will successfully transform your business into all you
want it to be.
I publish additional information over on my Facebook page and also on my LinkedIn – so make sure you are “following” me on Facebook and connected with me on LinkedIn. Instructions on how to do this are in last month’s newsletter, here.
In finding your purpose, you find the bigger why behind your business.
How can you find that, sometimes is as illusive as, why.
The ability to find your purpose for your business will really help you take it to
another level. Come up with a list of “why” and “what” questions. This will help
you focus on what matters most about working at or for your company. Once you
have these you can begin critically determining your ultimate goals.
Remember your business is a reflection of who you really are so do not be afraid
to include personal questions about your own what’s and why’s.
Start by questioning everything. Talk to everyone you trust and admire, those
who you consider successful, and ask what they value most in life. One basic
principle to follow as you discover your calling is to be ambitious while still
realistic. If your goals are too easy they won’t motivate you, if you see them as
too hard you will give up on them. Consider how you would put it into practice.
Is it doable, does it need to be perfect, or it won’t be successful, no. Learn as
you go, let your vision evolve with you and if you feel, you have moved away
from your vision or purpose, remember,
Don’t be afraid to reinvent yourself or your business.
Take it one step at a time. In doing so, you start to figure out
what works and what doesn’t.
Some questions you could consider asking are,
A purpose keeps you grounded and focused on what’s really important. It
helps you make the right decisions for your company. Just keep your
expectations or perfectionism in check, so not to get in the way of your own
success.
Some small businesses still don’t have a website.
Given how much business is done online—but more importantly, how often consumers search for local business services online—it’s surprising so many businesses don’t have websites, especially given how important websites are to customers.
Customers use tools such as Google, Firefox and Internet Explorer to find product info, opening hours and location. If this isn’t available, small businesses are losing a lot of online customer foot traffic.
Your website serves as the “home base” where you can send customers when they want to make a purchase or learn more about a particular product or service you offer. Through well planned design and layout of your website, you can encourage trust, and help establish your brand. A well designed website can become a revenue driver.
As you can see, my rating on Google is important to my business, is it important to you?
And don’t let the thought of, “Oh, but it will cost too much”, stop you from picking up the phone. Why?
